LITTLE SMOKIES ON TOOTHPICKS IN FRONT OF SLOW COOKER

Crockpot Little Smokies:

We all have our go-to appetizers that people know us for, and have grown to expect (or rather, demand) us to bring. For me, one of them is this little smokies crockpot recipe.

I am totally okay with it, because this couldn’t be easier to throw together. Cooking them in the crockpot means you can adjust things, depending on how long you want them to cook and when you’ll need them to be ready. Other go-to appetizers include buffalo chicken dip, cold crab dip, and seven layer dip.

This simple recipe only requires four ingredients, a package of little smokies, chili sauce, pineapple juice, and brown sugar. It’s so easy and the flavors are to die for. The sweet and smokey chili sauce flavor makes for the best cocktail smokies.

Get ready to have a new favorite appetizer to share at any and all gatherings.

How to Make Crockpot Little Smokies:

Putting these together couldn’t be easier, only 3 steps in prepping them. The prep time is quick and the cook time is manageable for however long you need, before serving them.

First, empty the bag of little smokes and place the them in the crockpot.

Next, in a small bowl you’ll want to make the sauce by whisking together the chili sauce, pineapple juice, and brown sugar.

When finished, you can pour this mixture over the little smokies in the crockpot. Then, cook on high heat for 3-4 hours or on low heat for 6-8 hours.

I like to let them cook all day and when I get to the party they are ready to go, I just keep the crockpot on warm, since you want to be sure to serve these warm.

How Long to Cook

If I am throwing these together shortly before a gathering, or before I plan to serve them, I do the quick option and cook them on high for 3-4 hours.

Once they are finished, you can simply turn the crock pot down to warm so that you are no longer cooking but the little smokies will stay nice and warm as you serve them.

How to Serve

The beauty of these little smokies is that they pair well with most other side dishes! They are a great munchie or appetizer to have before a bigger meal.

I have served them a variety of ways, sometimes just in a serving dish, other times I like to skewer them on a kabob stick or toothpicks.

If I need to keep them warm I will even serve them right out of the crock pot.
